‘Special’ counterbalanced fork lift trucks from CESAB
October 30th 2006

With more than sixty years' experience in the field of counterbalanced fork lift trucks, CESAB is the Italian centre of excellence within what is arguably one of the world's leading groups of fork-lift trucks manufacturers (TMHG).

CESAB's head quarters in Bologna, Italy, employing 350 people, has recently opened a new Business Unit – the Special Trucks Unit. The new 2.5 million Euro, 3000m2 area demonstrates CESAB's continued commitment to research in technology; a philosophy which is also reflected in both product and production processes. The unit also highlights CESAB's determination to satisfy individual customer needs in line with market developments and segmentation.

Around 20 people are dedicated to the new ‘Special Trucks’ unit including a highly skilled team capable of evaluating the customer's every last need. This constant attention to customer requirements has helped to enhance CESAB’s production quality standards. In 2002 CESAB secured Quality System certification to ISO 9001 Vision 2000 from BVQI, while early this year CESAB also gained the ISO 14001 environmental certification.

The company distributes a complete range of three and four wheel electric trucks and hydrostatic IC trucks in Europe via three branches and several distributors. The CESAB plant has increased its range of IC trucks (CESAB DRAGO). They are available with hydrostatic transmission and hydraulically or electronically controlled for superior performance, handling and ease of use. Last year CESAB launched a new 24 Volt 3-wheel Blitz 3 truck, available with capacities of 1 to 1.5 tons. With its optimal combination of high performance and compact size, this model is the ideal solution for working in confined spaces such as raised platforms, goods lifts and containers.

In June 2006 the UK sales office for CESAB relocated to new premises in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. This move demonstrates their increasing commitment to the UK market, strategically positioning themselves at the heart of the UK transport network. This enables CESAB to rapidly respond to their customers needs as well as boost support to their distributor network.
