Space Saving and Safe Handling with Combilift
November 15th 2010

Combilift continues to be at the forefront of innovation in the long load handling sector, and recently launched its largest 4-way truck to date – the 25t capacity C25,000.

Following the development of the groundbreaking and award winning compact Combi-CB model in 2008, Combilift engineers responded to feedback from customers indicating the need to handle ever larger loads to develop this giant forklift, which has dimensions of around 5 x 5m, an unladen weight of 32t and a 127kW engine. It was custom built for a manufacturer of factory built, fully fitted modular data centres needing to move loads of 18t at extended load centres, but the truck’s capacity would be equally ideal for companies involved with the supply or manufacture of prefabricated structures.

“We were definitely faced with some issues when we embarked on this project,” says MD Martin McVicar, “but our engineers once again rose to the challenge to create a Combilift which will do the job perfectly for the customer and which is remarkably manoeuvrable considering its size.”

New Combi-CB models

The success of the compact Combi-CB model to address the handling of a mixture of long and palletised loads has prompted Combilift to add further models to the CB range. As well as the original 2.5t capacity, CB’s are now available with 3 and 4 tonne lift capacities enabling operations that deal with heavier loads to benefit from the space saving attributes and manoeuvrability of this counterbalance design 4-way truck. AC Electric power is now also available on the 2.5 and 3t models.

Wide range

The Combilift range encompasses the standard C series with capacities from 2.5 to 25 t, the multi directional sideloader SL range (now incorporating larger wheels as standard|) and GT stand on models for operation in even narrower aisles. All are customised according to individual requirements and, depending on the model, AC electric, diesel or LPG power options are available. Combilift has won numerous industry awards and there are now over 11,000 Combilifts in operation in more than 50 countries around the world.
