Wider range of 4-way Combilifts November 26th 2009 The Combilift range of 4-way forklifts is acknowledged as the safe and space saving handling solution for long and bulky loads. Within the past 12 months the Irish specialist manufacturer has introduced a new compact model - the Combi-CB, which has extended the company’s customer base to those handling a combination of both palletised goods and longer length product.
Award winning design
The Combi-CB is the smallest Combilift to date, measuring just 1,5m square excluding forks, and once again demonstrates the innovation for which Combilift has become known. It is a more versatile alternative to standard conventional counterbalance trucks and electric 4-way forklifts, and as there is no platform, goods can be stacked directly from the floor up, enabling 100% use of lower storage areas.
The Combi-CB can also work in containers for streamlined offloading and transportation of product around the premises. It has a 2,500Kg capacity, lift heights of up to 7.5m, and is available with LP Gas, diesel or electric power. The Combi-CB won the UK Fork Lift Truck Association 2009 Award for Innovation, beating the seven other finalists in the category. “The Combi-CB compact multidirectional counterbalance design transfers the four-way principle into a small counterbalance truck for the first time,” commented a UKFLTA spokesman.
10,000 Combilifts
The 10,000th Combilift to roll off the production lines was delivered this year in Canada, to Weyerhaeuser, the world’s leading manufacturer of engineered lumber products.
The company operates 130 Combilifts across its sites in North America, and the trucks, which were designed specifically for Weyerhaeuser’s requirements, play a key role in its commitment to the safest material handling procedures and excellent productivity. Combilift MD Martin McVicar: “Weyerhaeuser’s case exemplifies how customer feedback from the wide variety of industry sectors we supply has been instrumental in helping us to continually improve the Combilift concept, to become the world’s largest supplier of lon g-load handling equipment.”
Combilift’s customised approach has proved to be such a success that Weyerhaeuser has embarked on a program to phase out all other types of conventional forklifts at its distribution centres and replace them with Combilifts.
Customised Range
The Combilift range encompasses the standard C series with capacities from 2.5t to 14t, the multi-directional sideloader SL range (now incorporating larger wheels as standard) and GT stand-on models for operation in even narrower aisles. All are customised according to individual requirements and AC electric, LPG and diesel power options are available. More articles from Combilift Limited: |
