‘New’ Grab-O-Matic quick attach/release drum handlers

The new QR-DLR range: St Clare Engineering Ltd have developed a new Quick Attach/Release system for their extensive range of drum handler fork attachments.

The Grab-O-Matic QR-DLR range of drum handlers and the QR-SC10 range of drum rotators can be securely attached to the forks of the truck and released without the need for the truck driver to dismount from his cab, thus increasing safety and efficiency.

How Does it Work: A Carriage Hook Plate is permanently bolted to the centre of the fork truck carriage, the forks are inserted fully into the fork pockets of the attachment and when raised a lever locks behind the Carriage Hook Plate and will only release when the unit is lowered to the ground, this reverses the action and the forks can be withdrawn from the unit.

The truck can then be used for other duties as the system does not interfere with the normal lifting and moving of pallets.

The DLR range of drum handlers when fitted with the standard HD-1 gripping heads will handle all steel drums, plastic ‘L’ ring drums and most fibre drums, damaged drums and drums of various sizes and diameters can also be safely and efficiently grabbed with the DLR range.

The SC10 range: Enables drums, both steel and plastic, to be manually rotated to dispense the contents while maintaining full control during rotation.
