Combilift’s 10 years of Innovation
October 14th 2008

Combilift Ltd, the leading global manufacturer of long load handling solutions, celebrates its 10 year anniversary this year. To mark this milestone it has launched a revolutionary new Combilift product – the Combi CB. The development of this revolutionary forklift continues the company’s tradition of identifying a gap in the market and devising a niche solution for it.

Safe Space saver

Versatility has always been a hallmark of Combilift products, and the Combi-CB is no exception. It is more compact than a traditional counterbalance forklift, has the added advantage of multi-directional operation, and is therefore ideal for any customer who handles a mixture of palletised goods and long length products.

As there is no platform, goods can be stacked directly from the floor up, enabling 100% use of lower storage areas. Rubber tyres enable operation both inside and out, and the small physical compact size of the Combi- CB (1.5m square excluding forks) allows it to work inside containers for seamless unloading and transportation of goods directly to the warehouse.

This new Combilift product will bring many advantages to customers who currently use standard conventional counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, side loaders, or electric 4-way forklifts. It has a 2,500Kg capacity, lift heights of up to 7.5m, and is available with LP Gas, diesel or electric power. MD Martin McVicar foresees a wide variety of suitable applications for the truck, particularly in retail outlets and manufacturing plants where not only the use of all available shelf space is crucial but also safe handling and manoeuvrability is paramount.

9,000 Combilifts worldwide

Over 9,000 Combilifts are in operation in 50 countries around the world. There is a wide variety of models to choose from depending on application: the standard C series with capacities from 2.5t to 14t; the multidirectional sideloader SL range, and the GT stand-on models for operation in even narrower aisles. “Since our inception, we have offered a customised range to suit various individual requirements across a range of industry sectors,” said Martin McVicar. “This customer-led approach has been a strong component of our success and has set us apart from mainstream manufacturers since the launch of our first truck in 1998.”

Combilift also offers a free warehouse design service to illustrate the best possible use of available storage space for potential customers. The Combilift website is an excellent source of information where visitors can view videos of different Combilift models in operation.
